Will be spending today focusing on the first few weeks of the yr 10 history course and rewriting the program to ensure the Warsaw tasks are included.
Spent today setting up seqta programmes and working more on the yr 10 history program. Had look through past programs and have decided to change from a study of propaganda to one on the Warsaw ghetto that I focussed on a few years ago. I moved the program across and will just need to adapt a few of the early classes and look at the timing f assessment pieces to ensure they work with the new timetable.
The year has started with a move back to Room 26 so will be spending the first few days back at work setting up the room and making it a comfortable and relaxing place to work and learn. I'm particularly looking forward to the air conditioning ! Have spent some time during the holidays thinking about the course content but also the pedagogy of how I will be teaching. I'd like to go back to students using their workbooks more, particularly for the drafting and note taking aspects of the course. Work on computers will be more targeted and focussed.
The year will start with yr 8 English reading Holes, a fun and thoughtful coming of age novel. Yr 8 Has will start with an Overview of World history and then delving into Medieval Europe. Yr 10 history will be starting with an overview of WW1 and then a closer look at the Treaty of Versaiile as we lead into WW2.
The plan for today is to
√remodel the website
√start gathering resources for the yr 10 history course :)
