Individually you will be given a major historical event or person. You can choose any of the Padlets below and must upload as many primary sources as you can within the time limit. You must not repeat any documents that are already there.
Add your initials first Then the website url Then upload the article/photo etc You do not need to write anything - just upload the primary document
Secondary sources describe, discuss, interpret, comment upon, analyze, evaluate, summarize, and process primary sources. Secondary source materials can be articles in newspapers or popular magazines, book or movie reviews, or articles found in scholarly journals that discuss or evaluate someone else's original research.
defining your research
You've been given an overall theme of "Worst time and place in history since 1750' but you need to narrow that time and come up with a thesis or question for your research. This will help focus your research and give you direction and purpose. You need to avoid close questions "How many people died in WW1" these can be answered with simple google searches and doesn't require any analysis or synthesis. Examples: What impact did the German concentration camps have on the Jewish population? In what ways did the Potato Famine change the structure of Ireland society? What importance did the battle at Khe San have on the Vietnam war? Why is Jack the Ripper so well known compared to other serial killers? Do the American gun laws create a more violent society?
Attached are some examples of the research task completed in another school.
