So Ive had a couple of days of no homework and leaving my laptop at work so I havent updated the blog. My yr 8 english students are now on camp and will return next week and we can start our work on our first shared novel Tomorrow When the War Began. The year 9 English class has started looking at the cover design of their shared text "The Hunger Games" and will continue that on Friday. The year 10 Geography class has continued to work on the articles about happiness and money and also watch a TED talk about how we can measure well being. Yr 10 history are getting their heads around the conditions of Europe before the war. We're lucky enough to have a Japanese excahnge student join us and i was a bit concerned because so much of my website is full of writing.. but I discovered that using google translate we can translate my page to Japanese which will hopefully help him a little to follow the course :)
I've also rediscovered the online quiz site Socrative, so have been designing a couple of documentary response quizzes for my yr 10 students - I used to use moodle for this type of activity but will be interested to see how the online quiz works.
So today is my birthday , so we're taking it a little easy today and apart from finishing off some previously started work we're going to kick back and watch a movie, just for fun.
This blog is a record of the day to day classroom activities for teachers, parents and students. This is also a bit of a personal record for myself on how things are going and what each class is working on.
