Tomorrow, when the war began.
This would have to be one of my favourite novels. It tells the story of a group of teenagers who need to survive in Australia. I love the strength of the female characters in the novel, the resourceful and positive portrayal of teenagers and the overall theme of survival.
Many of you may have read the novel before and/or seen the film, and that's okay... I've read the book about 20 times and I still find things in there I hadn't noticed before... and I'm guessing most of you probaby didnt analyse the characters while reading it for fun! :) As for the film..... I avoided watching the film for about 2 years as I loved the book so much and was worried they would destroy it in the film, but overall I was quite happy with the way the film portrayed the people and sense of the story. The book is still better ( obviously!) and is worth a read even if you think you know what the story is about. Sometimes I find it useful watching the film first because it helps me picture the characters and setting easier.
We will be using a theme based approach to the novel which means as you read it you will be answering questions particular to the theme you have chosen... I will explain it all a little later, but for now let's have a look at .....

What do you think is the significance of these colours?
