Have spent the weekend relaxing and making a few little changes to the site.. Have started developing the english programmes but i always find these tend to be the most flexble and open to change as I get to know the students and things that interest us peak and wan through the year. I've got a year 8 and 9 class this year and am very excited after teaching only yr 10's last year, primarily because it means i get to read my all time favourite two books, Tomorrow When The War Began and Hunger Games !! Its been nice to have a break and start this year approaching them from a fresh perspective. I'm going to try some PBL style work by using various themes that students can choose from to follow through as they read. I'm hoping this will help them when it comes to the longer individual text reponses they'll come across in senior school. I'll be spending today coming up with some plan b activities as the overhead projector in my room wasnt working last week when i checked and Ive got a horrid fear i'll be without a projector for a while... I might have to go old school and do some photocopying of my web site ;)
Enjoy the long weekend
This blog is a record of the day to day classroom activities for teachers, parents and students. This is also a bit of a personal record for myself on how things are going and what each class is working on.
