Woke up with a migraine Monday morning so decided to take the day off to rest. So in brief the yr 9 English students were starting some chapter 2 and 3 summaries and they continued this on Tuesday as there were some issues with my website. The worked well and will complete the questions for homework. In history they continued their study of WW1 films and started watching Warhorse. A great film that captures the life of trench warfare really well.
My yr 10 geography class started some work on interpreting the Gapminder graph and looking at how historical events impacted the life expectancy and GDP of countries. The yr 10 history class are also watching warhorse and I had a chat to them about our project working with the RSL to create a digital archive of their resources.
The year 8 English class continued working in their themed groups to find quotes that support their theme in the novel and will be writing these up in their books for homework. We started reading chapter two of Tomorrow when the war began and I was reminded of some google maps of the setting - so im off to find those to help the students visualise Hell !
This blog is a record of the day to day classroom activities for teachers, parents and students. This is also a bit of a personal record for myself on how things are going and what each class is working on.
