Today the yr 9 english students continued working on their Fakebook pages and were finding a suitable cover photo and 'likes' of the character. In the afternoon we continued watching "Catching Fire".
Yr 8 english students continued to listen to Tomorrow when the War Began and we are now up to chapter 8. Students were given a reflective task for homework ( due friday) about what they would notice if they arrived home and no one was there... and on Thursday we will be looking at what objects we have at home that we would need/want to take with us if we were in the same position as the characters in the novel.
Yr 10 geography students are still working on their statistics for Pikotchart and will have one more day to complete these ( Wednesday) before we resume the work we are doing on developing countries. The year 10 history class will also be looking at statistics but they will be surveying the current population and finding out what they know about World War one and Gallipoli. It should make for an interesting juxtaposition when we compare what people know and the facts from the Geography class.
NB - the original plan of creating a digital archive of the RSL memorabilia has been placed on hold with the yr 10 history class as it it proving a little challenging to get the RSL during our lesson times. I would still like to work on this but will be postponing it until next semester and will look at taking the class there for a whole day rather then intermittedly.
This blog is a record of the day to day classroom activities for teachers, parents and students. This is also a bit of a personal record for myself on how things are going and what each class is working on.
